Guido is a freelance live and recording engineer specialized in jazz and jazz related music.

Because of his musical backgound and active experience as a pianist Guido approaches sound engineering from a musical perspective in stead of from a technical view.

In 2002 Guido graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Music in The Hague where he studied Sound Engineering, specializing in studio recording. As a secondary subject he studied Jazz-Piano with Rob van Bavel. During this time he made many jazz orientated studio and live recordings. Professional experience during his studies includes mixing for the musical "Je bent Goud Waard Charlie Brown" and an internship for Zuidelijk Toneel Hollandia and Attie Bauw.

In his career as a freelance sound engineer he began working for Jazz Impuls, an organisation that brings around 130 jazz concerts a season to theaters and music halls around the country. He worked with artists like: Benjamin Herman, Fay Claassen, Loet van der Lee, Jesse van Ruller, Hein van de Geyn, Piet Noordijk, Rita Reys, Willem Breuker Kollektief, Bert van den Brink, Houdini’s, Tony Overwater, Denise Jannah and many others.

Guido is currently working for Jazz Impuls with the Dutch Jazz Orchestra, the Peter Beets Trio and Kim Hoorweg.  As a sound engineer Guido is also connected to the New Generation Big Band and 3Dubbel Dutch.

In 2007 he started working for Frans de Rond in studio Byton and later in studio Huis van Eustachius. During this time he was responsible for recording the Bommel radio play for the NPS. Guido is now also working for sound company Focus in Amsterdam.
